Feature Long Island’s Tony Nese officially signs with WWE by Daniel Yanofsky November 16, 2016 It looks like “The Premiere Athlete” is about to perform on a platform worthy of his talent. This past weekend at EVOLVE 73 (available on FloSlam), WWE NXT General Manager William Regal offered a WWE contract to Tony Nese. The Long Island native was a part of the WWE Cruiserweight Classic this summer and left a lasting impression. When the cruiserweight division returned to Raw, Nese was originally not announced as a member. Over time however, he started to appear on Raw and made a few PPV appearances. EVOLVE’s Drew Gulak was also offered a contract. It is rumored that Nese will have a large role in the cruiserweight division moving forward. In a video showing the moment on WWE.com, Nese stated how hard he worked, noting that no matter how many times he failed to get his goal, he had more opportunities to try and reach it. Tony took to Instagram to confirm the move to WWE and to show his appreciation to EVOLVE and the fans. httpss://www.instagram.com/p/BMymFHoAC1T/ The man who “moves like a cruiserweight and hits like a heavyweight” is a huge signing for the company. Nese has put on great matches over the years with everyone he has faced, and he’s only 31., With the news that the cruiserweight’s would be getting their own show, WWE 205 Live, this could be the ultimate opportunity for Nese. If you haven’t seen any of his matches on the independent scene, I highly recommend doing so. William Regal teased that there would be more signings from EVOLVE coming. Congratulations to Tony Nese on starting a new chapter in his career. Post Views: 2,271 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Daniel Yanofsky Baseball Editor, Misc.
