It is known that the Mets will not be competing this year. The future does look bright for this team however, and at this point that is the only thing that matters. The Mets will be able to showcase their young talent next year, and now we know where and when. MLB released the schedule of all 30 teams for the 2018 season. The Mets’ schedule can be found here.

If you want some interesting details regarding the new schedule, the Mets sent out a press release. Here are some important notes to remember for the 2018 season:

– This will be the first time that all teams will play on Opening Day since 1968. MLB Network will be NFL RedZone for a day. It is also interesting to point out that March 29th is one of the earliest Opening Day starts in MLB history.

– The Mets will open the season on the 29th at home against the Cardinals. After the Cardinals, the Mets play three more games at home against the Phillies before heading to Washington.

– Unlike previous years, the beginning of the season is not that NL East heavy. The team will play a series with the aforementioned Cardinals, Milwaukee and San Diego.

– The AL East will dominate Interleague play for the Mets. The Amazins can be spoilers to teams close to home, even if they aren’t the Yankees. Speaking of the Bronx Bombers, the Mets will face their big brothers, but this time, it will be under a different format. Over the past two years, two games have been played at Yankee Stadium and Citi Field. Now, the Mets will host the Yankees for three games from June 8th-10th while the Yankees will play host from July 20th-22nd. This will give fans space for refreshing matchups as the season advances.

Free Shirt Friday’s, concerts and family events will continue to happen when the new season begins. You can make your ticket plan deposit for the upcoming season at mets.com/deposits. If you require any information regarding tickets, call 718-507-TIXX or visit mets.com for more details.
