Baseball New York Giants Legend Mark Bavaro To Appear At August 29th Somerset Patriots Game by Somerset Patriots June 10, 2018 Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots will have a special appearance by New York Giants legend Mark Bavaro for the Wednesday, August 29th game at TD Bank Ballpark. Bavaro will be at the 7:05 pm game against the Road Warriors to throw out a ceremonial first pitch, participate in an exclusive Meet & Greet in the Diamond Club, and sign autographs for fans on the main concourse for two hours. The exclusive Meet & Greet Diamond Club package is $89 and will allow fans to spend a little more time with Bavaro, take a picture, and receive one autograph item in addition to one brought in by participants of the experience. The Meet & Greet will take place in the Diamond Club on the suite level from 6:00 pm to 6:45 pm before Bavaro will be brought down on the field to throw out a ceremonial first pitch. Bavaro, a member of the New York Giants Ring of Honor, served as a tight end for the team from 1985-1990. He was on two Super Bowl winning teams (Super Bowl XXI and XXV) and selected to two Pro Bowls (1986 and 1987). The University of Notre Dame All-American was drafted by the Giants in the fourth round of the 1985 NFL Draft (100th overall). Bavaro quickly emerged as a starter in his rookie season. He became one of the best tight ends in the game, known for his receiving skills, toughness, and ability to drag defenders with him to gain extra yardage or go in for the touchdown. After his six seasons in New York, Bavaro played for the Cleveland Browns (1992) and finished his career with the Philadelphia Eagles (1993-1994).
