Somerset Patriots Bring Back RHP Bobby Blevins

Bridgewater, NJ- The Somerset Patriots have announced that the team has re-signed right-handed pitcher Bobby Blevins for the 2019 season.

Blevins enters his second season with the Somerset Patriots and his eighth overall season in the Atlantic League. He has previously played for the Long Island Ducks (2012, 2013-2016) and the Sugar Land Skeeters (2017).
His best year in the Atlantic League came with Long Island in 2014 when he was 9-5 with a 2.95 ERA and 119 strikeouts in 189.1 innings pitched in 27 games, all as a starter.

Blevins briefly appeared in Somerset during the 2018 season. He pitched the deciding Game Five of the Liberty Division Championship Series against the Ducks. Blevins flourished in his start, throwing six scoreless innings, while allowing just two hits and striking out two as well.

The former 13th round pick of the 2007 MLB Amateur Draft spent his first four professional seasons with the Los Angeles Dodgers, making his most notable impact in 2009. That season, he went 11-10, starting 27 games and striking out 97 batters in 153.2 innings.

Overall, across his 12 seasons of professional baseball, Blevins owns a 72-93 record, 4.18 ERA, and six saves in 1,460.1 innings of work.

Blevins also played three seasons with the Rockland Boulders of the Can-Am League from 2012-2014.
