Baseball Somerset Patriots Manager Brett Jodie Earns 250th Win by Somerset Patriots August 26, 2015 Bridgewater, NJ- Somerset Patriots manager Brett Jodie earned his 250th career win as manager of the team on Wednesday, August 26 as the Patriots defeated the Sugar Land Skeeters 4-2 at TD Bank Ballpark. He is the fastest Atlantic League manager ever to reach the milestone. Jodie took over as manager in 2013 and has since amassed a record of 250-144, good for a .635 winning percentage. “We take each game individually and try to win that game. It is its own unique battle. I’m very fortunate to have won 250 games this early, but it is a total credit to our coaching staff and players that come ready to play each day,” Jodie said. In his first three seasons in the position, Jodie has led the Somerset Patriots to the playoffs each year. In 2013, he guided the team to its highest single-season win total with a 90-49 record and an appearance in the Atlantic League Championship Series after a sweep of the Skeeters earned the team the Freedom Division Championship. Jodie’s team picked up right where it left off in 2014, winning both the First and Second Half Championships en route to a league-best 85-55 record. This season, the Somerset Patriots shattered the league’s record for most wins in a half to take the Liberty Division First Half Championship with a 50-20 record and clinch a playoff berth. Only the second manager in team history, Jodie is no stranger to the Somerset Patriots having won a championship in 2003 as the team’s top starting pitcher. He also appeared on the roster for the first half of the 2005 season before retiring from playing. Jodie returned to the Somerset Patriots as Pitching Coach in 2006 and added Director of Player Personnel to his credentials in 2007. Jodie held both positions for the team through the 2012 season when manager Sparky Lyle stepped into a new position with the organization as Manager Emeritus in 2013.
