Hockey Sports Management Worldwide at the NHL Draft by Jackie Daly May 26, 2013 Attention all hockey fans, and hockey minded career individuals! I know I know it’s hard to think of hockey being almost over for the 2012-2013 season, I mean it just started it seems like and we are in the thick and juicy part of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Conference finals are just around the corner, and it is hard to look ahead. But we must. June 29-30 is a big hockey weekend here in the NYC metro area. Sports Management Worldwide (SMWW), an online jumping off point for a sports career, which offers courses, and training for careers in all aspects and in a vast arrangement of professional sports, will be here for a conference and for the NHL Draft. They hold sports career conferences all over the country and June 29-30, 2013 is the Hockey Career Conference at the NHL Draft. The conference is taking place at the Times Square Marriott Marquis, and the Draft is at the Prudential Center in Newark New Jersey, the home of the New Jersey Devils. The conference will be split up into diverse speaker panels; including sports business, athlete representation, scouting, league management, and sports business strategies. There are opportunities for everyone in attendance to gain insight into the hockey career world, and even ask questions during a Q and A session with the panel members. Speakers for the 2013 are currently being recruited. Past speakers include EJ Hradek, Sr. Reporter for the NHL Network/NHL.com, Rob Rossi, Pittsburgh Penguins Beat Reporter for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Jeff Gorton, New York Rangers Assistant GM, Manny Schmidt, NHL Agent, Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, Sports Management Worldwide President and the list goes on. As you can see the careers that are represented are all over the league, not specific to one talent or career specialty. With registration to the conference, you get a ticket to attend the 2013 NHL Draft! A huge event that takes place each year, just so happens that this year it is in OUR neck of the concrete jungle! Registration happens online at www.smww.com, and all information about the conference can be found there as well. While you are on the site, it can’t hurt to browse through their database of information on sports careers. Maybe a future course or career conference may catch your wandering sports eye! You never know! Post Views: 1,057 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Jackie Daly Jackie Daly has been with In The Zone since 2012.
