Hockey Rangers-Capitals Average Ticket Prices Climb After Game 1 by Staff Post May 1, 2015 After Game 1, it’s easy to look back and say the New York Rangers would’ve wanted to play their in-state rival New York Islanders in the second round of the NHL playoffs. The Washington Capitals had other plans and went into Madison Square Garden and stole Game 1 just before time expired in the third period. With 1.3 seconds remaining, Joel Ward found the back of the net, powering in a pass from Alex Ovechkin. After dropping Game 1, Madison Square Garden is going to be as raucous as it has been all playoffs, hoping to help the team push forward an even the series. Prices for Rangers tickets for games at Madison Square Garden are some of the highest in the entire NHL playoffs. According to RazorGator.com, Games 1 had an average ticket price of $497.63 with a get-in price of $192. The other three scheduled games at Madison Square Garden, Games 2, 5 and 7, have an average price of $636.05. Three games scheduled for the Verizon Center have an average ticket price of $254.54 on the secondary market.
