Feature Red Bulls Give Marsch an Extension by Staff Post June 17, 2016 Red Bulls head coach, Jesse Marsch (USA Today Sports Images) On Friday, the New York Red Bulls and head coach Jesse Marsch reached an agreement on a contract extension. This is tremendous new for the organization and the only surprise surrounding this whole situation is why it took so long to have it happen in the first place. Marsch, in his first year in charge of the Red Bulls, was the MLS Coach of the Year while setting many new franchise records and getting them to within one game of the MLS Cup Final. Club Director Ali Curtis, who brought Marsch in specifically to be head coach, had this to say about his extension: “Jesse is an excellent person and the perfect coach for this club. I am excited that we agreed on a new contract. I enjoy working with Jesse every day and he continues to have an exceptional impact on the success of our club.” Despite a slow start to this season the Red Bulls have been on fire of late and sit in second place in the eastern conference and are tied with F.C. Dallas for the most goals scored this year. This contract extension will only make this team better as it shows the confidence the organization have in their head coach and allows the players to feel happy and secure that their leader will be with them for years to come.
