Both New York (New Jersey) football teams open training camp this Sunday. One living it up in the spot light and showing their team to the world while trying to build new success. The other taking a quiet approach in an attempt to regain success.

The New York Jets will be the most watched NFL team during camp, mostly due to them being on HBO’s Hard Knocks. The HBO series will follow the many happenings throughout Jets camp. If notihng else, it should be entertaining.

The Jets are coming off a season that ended with a deep playoff run, falling one win short of a Super Bowl appearance.

They are the team that has the big names. The loud and entertaining coach Rex Ryan, the GQ quarterback Mark Sanchez, and the shut down defense. Add in newcomers, Jason Taylor, LaDainian Tomlinson, and Santonio Holmes and you have a very interesting group.

Many believe this years New York Jets squad is one of the top Super Bowl favorites.

This team is not shy about their expectations, starting with Ryan. They have stolen the headlines away from the Giants who normally ruled the NYC area football scene. The New York Jets have forced their way onto the scene and are not backing away from letting you know they are there.

On the other hand, the New York Giants are entering camp hoping to erase the memories of a disappointing 2009 season.

Tom Coughlin is much more private than his coaching counterpart at the Jets. Eli Manning is not known as the poster boy quarterback and they do not have the big names like Tomlinson and Holmes.

The Giants are getting back to business the Giants way. No talk, all work. Not saying either way is wrong, if talking works for the Jets then good for them.

This season, the Giants are thought about as no better than third in the NFC East, some even believe they are the worst team in that division.

So, the Giants will quietly get to work and regroup in the hopes of having a successful season. The players are there, the talent is there, now it’s a matter of making it all come together again like it did a few years ago.

Both teams have high hopes as they enter camp, they just go about their business differently. The Giants seem to like it when things are quiet, while the Jets have no problem standing in the spotlight.
