Baseball Barnstormers Edge Patriots 2-1 by Somerset Patriots May 13, 2018 Bridgewater, NJ- The Lancaster Barnstormers (10-5) defeated the Somerset Patriots (10-5) 2-1 at TD Bank Ballpark on Saturday night. The Patriots went up 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth inning on an RBI single by Craig Massey. The Barnstormers took the lead with two runs in the top of the sixth inning on RBI singles by Blake Gailen and Joey Terdoslovich. Somerset’s Vince Molesky pitched four scoreless innings of relief and allowed just two hits and struck out four batters. “Vince came in the game in a tough situation,” said Somerset Patriots manager Brett Jodie. “He put us in a good position to win tonight. He kept batters off-balance each inning and really gave us a boost.” Recently signed Kyle Davies made his debut for the Patriots and pitched a 1-2-3 inning in the top of the first before a long rain delay took him out of the game. “I saw a huge upside with him. He had some good stuff and he’s excited to get going,” Jodie added. “He needs to see more reps to get more consistent. We saw him in the pen and are looking forward to see what we have in Davies.” Brooks Hall (1-1) picked up the win, allowing an unearned run on five hits and five strikeouts in five innings pitched. Logan Kensing (2-1) suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on three hits in an inning pitched. Matt Reynolds earned his third save of the season with a scoreless ninth inning pitched. The 2018 Somerset Patriots Season presented by Ford will continue on the road until Friday, May 18th when the team returns to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 pm game against the Long Island Ducks. The game features Cooler Bags (1st 1,000 Adults) presented by Ehrlich Pest Control. For tickets, visit www.somersetpatriots.com.
