Baseball Aussie Native Chris Adamson Hired as Manager of Phillies’ Single-A Lakewood BlueClaws by Joseph Buscemi February 7, 2020 LAKEWOOD, NJ – On Friday, the Philadelphia Phillies Single-A affiliate, Lakewood BlueClaws, announced the hiring of new manager Chris Adamson. The 31-year old Sydney Australia native, becomes the 14th manager in BlueClaws history. Joining him to the staff are the following: Pitching coach Matt Hockenberry – 2nd Season with BlueClaws Hitting coach Christian Marrero – 2nd Season with BlueClaws Coach Geoff Jimenez – 1st Season with Organization Trainer Andrew Dodgson – 1st Season with BlueClaws, served as trainer for Gulf Coast Phillies West in years prior. Strength & conditioning coach Bruce Peditto – Mount Laurel, NJ native returning in his 2nd season with BlueClaws. BlueClaws Team President, Joe Ricciutti, had this to say about the team’s new skipper: “We’re very excited to welcome Chris and his staff to the Jersey Shore. We’re very much looking forward to another exciting summer!” Adamson comes from the Adelaide Giants of the Australian Baseball League, where he has served as the team’s manager since 2017 and bench coach from 2013-2016. He is also an assistant coach on the Australian national team while heading the performance department for Baseball South Australia. Former catcher during his playing days, Adamson was also named All-American at Angelo State in Texas back in 2010. The BlueClaws kick-off their 2020 season on the road versus Pittsburgh Pirates affiliate, Greensboro Grasshoppers, on April 9th. They return to Lakewood for Opening Night on Thursday, April 16th where they will once again face the Grasshoppers.
