UFC Long Island – Weidman v. Gastelum (NYCB Live) We are only a few days away until Chris Weidman attempts to get back on track in his own backyard. UFC Long Island (or UFC on Fox 25) takes place on July 22nd at the Nassau Coliseum. Before the show can start, the UFC will have a few pregame events for fans to enjoy. Consider the events before the fight the appetizer before the main course. Here is the list of events you can attend leading up to UFC Long Island: Open workouts will be held on Thursday, July 29th at the UFC Gym in New Hyde Park (2020 Jericho Turnpike) beginning at 11:30 a.m. They are free and open to the public. The list of fighters appearing will be several hometown favorites. Fighters that will be there include Kelvin Gastelum, Darren Elkins, Patrick Cummins, Dennis Bermudez, Gian Villante and Chris Weidman. Gastelum will be starting the event at 11:30 AM. Every half hour, fighters will be taking part. After Gastelum is Elkins (noon), Cummins (12:30 PM), Bermudez (1 PM) and Villante (1:30 PM). Weidman will get his turn at 2 PM. Ceremonial weigh-ins take place on Friday the 22nd at the Nassau Coliseum. The event starts at 6 PM and is free and open to the public. We may see a few surprises regarding upcoming fights, so arrive early. Fighters have a whole night to prepare until the next day, the 22nd, when the show really begins. After the event, the Long Island natives have a special surprise for fans. Win or lose, there will be multiple fighter-promoted parties around the Island for fans to attend. The event will be at Tropix. It will be interesting to see what the mood will be like depending on the results of the fight. It will be a big few days down on Long Island. Fight Pass prelims for UFC Long Island start at 4 PM, prelims are at 6 PM and the main card will be LIVE at 8 PM.
