Conlon Picks Up Eighth Win

Columbia, SC – The Fireflies won their second consecutive game against the West Virginia Power as P.J. Conlon picked up his eighth win of the season and is sole wins leader in the South Atlantic League, at 8. In all of Minor League Baseball, only two other pitchers have more wins than Conlon.

The Fireflies scored early getting a run in the bottom of the first and never looked back with the help from their starter. Going into the seventh inning,  the Fireflies were up 4-0 behind strong performances from Kevin Kaczmarski, Vinny Siena, and David Thompson. The Power wasn’t about to be shut out however as they brought two runs in ended Conlon’s night at 6.2 innings, allowing just two hits and striking out four, registering his ERA at 1.34.

Columbia and West Virginia are at it again tonight for game three of the series. Newly added to the Fireflies roster, right-hander Gaby Almonte (6-7, 3.78) takes the mound. He faces West Virginia Power righty Dario Agrazal (3-4, 4.00).
