Lesnar has been Universal Champion for a whole year, and may be looking for another UFC Title (Photo by Tom Horak - Double G Media) MMA Dana White “breaks kayfabe” by confirming Brock Lesnar will rejoin the UFC Lesnar leaving WWE is not new, but was Dana White in the wrong announcing it during WrestleMania week? by Daniel Yanofsky April 7, 2018 It appears that Brock Lesnar’s last match in WWE will be at WrestleMania 34. It also appears that Roman Reigns will beat Lesnar for the Universal Title on Sunday. You already knew that though, right? Deep down inside, that thought was planted in your head. Well, UFC President Dana White has basically confirmed that Brock Lesnar is out of sports entertainment after WrestleMania, and will head back into the octagon. When Dana posted a photo of him and Brock on Instagram in February, the same day as WWE’s Elimination Chamber PPV, we knew something was up. This past week on UFC Tonight, Dana stated that Brock is working on a contract as we speak. Lesnar last fought inside the octagon in 2016 at UFC 200 against Mark Hunt. What was a victory ended up being a no-contest after he failed a drug test. He was suspended for one year, went back to WWE and put the UFC in the back of his mind. Now that he has options once again, Lesnar is back on the hunt. Brock still has a big hurdle to climb if he was to return. He must get back into the drug testing pool, serve a suspension reaching six months and pass drug tests. After that, if everything goes well, he may even get an opportunity right away. Speaking at the UFC 25th Anniversary Press Conference, White stated Lesnar has plenty of fights left in his recent deal with the company. Dana also said one of those fights could be with whoever is the winner of Stipe Miocic v. Daniel Cormier. A former UFC Heavyweight Champion himself, Lesnar would turn heads if he would win a title right after coming back. Would it be fair? Probably not, but a name like Lesnar can still produce a lot of money, something the leaders of the combat sports world can truly get behind. Was it a right move by Dana to make an announcement a few days before WrestleMania, WWE’s biggest show of the year? Probably not, but that’s not his market. It will not affect him negatively at all. This is not the first time that Lesnar had plans post-WrestleMania and the fans knew about it. Remember the WrestleMania 20 debacle v. Goldberg? Yikes. While it’s a different scenario with Roman, the finish, especially if the match is the main event, almost leaves a sour taste in the mouth of those watching. On the other hand, while the ending may seem obvious, it will almost seem like a perfect sendoff for Brock Lesnar. After all, he has had a wild relationship with the business and fans for years. When the clock strikes midnight on April 8, WWE and UFC fans around the world will be waiting with anticipation. Brock Lesnar will be a very wanted man. Which path will he take?
