Double G Sports Gambling Expert, Jared Smith, Debuts New Column: “WINNER$”

Hello again Double G readers! It’s been a while. I’ve taken a short hiatus from the website, but now I’m back with a new focus, helping you win your gambling pools and fantasy leagues!

From now on I will assume the role of gambling and fantasy expert for Double G Sports. The column will be called “Winners” and I will include the Jets and Giants in my picks every week. In addition to a suicide pick, and fantasy sleepers to help you gain value in your DFS leagues. It will be posted every Friday.

I will keep track of my record every week, and every pick I make will be documented and recapped in the following week’s column.

If you have any particular games you’d like me to pick each week, feel free to reach out to me on twitter (@jaredleesmith) or in the comments section of this story.

Let’s make some money!
Week 7 NFL WINNER$:

GIANTS -2.5 vs. Rams
Tea and crumpets for breakfast! The 2nd game to be played in London this season features a Giants squad coming off a must-win against the Ravens last week and they get another favorable matchup this Sunday against the Rams. If it wasn’t for a heroic performance by Kenny Britt (7-136-2) against a weak Lions secondary, the Rams would have gotten blown out in Detroit last Sunday. Janoris Jenkins won’t be as kind to the former Rutgers star. Todd Gurley is my only concern here for Big Blue’s defense but Eli pulls it out late and the Giants win a tight one, 24-21.

JETS -1 vs. Ravens
It’s Geno time! Our favorite West Virginia Mountaineer is back in the saddle. It was a tumultuous week for the Jets. After getting blown out on Monday in the desert, head coach Todd Bowles flip-flopped on the starting quarterback position after meeting with the staff wee into the morning hours on Tuesday. Ryan Fitzpatrick is out, Geno Smith is in. Meanwhile the Ravens have their own QB problems to deal with. Joe Flacco left practice Wednesday with a sore throwing shoulder. His status is something to keep an eye on. Baltimore has been very average this season with Flacco under center, I can’t imagine backup Ryan Mallett would be an upgrade from that. If Flacco sits, the Jets win. If Flacco plays, the Jets still probably win. I’m jumping on the Geno Smith redemption bandwagon, for now. Jets win 21-17.

VIKINGS -2.5 at Eagles
I’ll take the best defense in the league over a rookie quarterback every day of the week, and twice on Sunday. Carson Wentz has shown a lot of promise in his first five games under center and Philly fans have a lot to be excited about, but this is not going to end well for the birds. I think Mike Zimmer is the most underrated coach in the league, and I love the Vikes in this spot coming off the bye. Sam Bradford continues to turn back the clock. Vikings eradicate the Eagles 28-10.

Suicide Pick of the Week:

BENGALS over Browns
This matchup has been the NFL’s version of the big brother beating up on the little brother. Cincinnati is 20-12 vs. their Ohioan counterpart since 2000. Having Cody Kessler under center and a banged up Tyrelle Pryor (hamstring) won’t help the Brownies cause either.

Fantasy Sleepers:
Marcus Mariota, QB, Titans
James White, RB, Patriots
Cameron Meredith, WR, Bears
Hunter Henry, TE, Chargers
