New York Rangers President and GM Glen Sather has been named a finalist for NHL GM of the Year, and it is rightly so. Under his guidance, the Broadway Blueshirts have a blend of youth and experience that resulted in the best regular season ever for the team.

This year, the Rangers set records for most wins in a season with 53, most points in a season with 113, most road wins in a season with 28 and most road points in a season with 58.

The Blueshirts also were the only team that ranked third or higher in the NHL in both goals per game (third with 3.02) and goals against per game (third with 2.28) in the 2014-15 season.

They are also the one of only four NHL teams that have made the playoffs at least nine times since the 2005-06 season. They are also tied for second in the NHL with 108 playoff games played since the start of the 2006 playoffs.

The Rangers are also the only team in the NHL that have won at least one playoff series the past four seasons. They also rank second in the NHL and lead the Eastern Conference in regular season and playoff wins combined since the start of the 2011-12 season with 213, and only trail Chicago who has 214.

The Rangers have also played more playoff games than any team in the NHL since the start of the 2012 season, with 74 and lead all Eastern Conference teams with in wins with 38.
