Josh Bailey Named NHL’s Second Star of the Week

Josh Bailey’s hot streak continues even off the ice, picking up this week’s Second Star of the Week.  Bailey put together a fantastic week, picking up seven assists in three games and proving all the doubters wrong.

Bailey has been the scapegoat for many Islanders fans over the years, but it turns out he’s been one of the most productive players in the league.  According to Arthur Staple of Newsday, “Since the start of 2016-17, Josh Bailey has 56 assists.  Only 10 players have more – McDavid, Backstrom, Karlsson, P. Kane among them”.

That’s not a bad company to keep, and it shows that Bailey has grown leaps and bounds as a player since his rookie season.  He is now a staple on the Islander’s first line with John Tavares and Anders Lee, and will only continue to grow.  Congrats Josh Bailey on an incredible week.  Hat tip to you, sir.
