Despite the reported millions of illegal steams, Mayweather vs. McGregor makes PPV history.

Not exactly sure if UFC President Dana White knew he was being recorded. but during the final episode the Tuesday Night Contender Series, co-host and UFC Hall of Famer Urijah Faber leaked the announcement via social media. If you caught a glimpse of Faber’s Instagram story, you heard White telling Faber that the pay-per-view did an astounding 6.5 million buys.

That is almost 2 million buys more than the previous record held by Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao in 2015.

Leading up to Saturday night’s mega-fight, Showtime Executives were skeptical if the fight would beat the previous record.
