Feature Boxing’s Amanda Serrano heading to MMA Brooklyn’s own 5-division champion is adding the cage to her resume. by Kristine Haugsjaa September 21, 2017 Brooklyn’s own Amanda Serrano is adding the cage to her already impressive resume. Serrano, who captured her record breaking fifth world boxing title in April, has decided to venture into the world of mixed martial arts, according to her social media accounts. httpss://www.instagram.com/p/BYOd6Kzg0w4/?hl=en&taken-by=serranosisters Since the August 25th announcement, Serrano has signed with the A08 Management team. Notably led by former UFC and Strikeforce Bantamweight champion Miesha Tate. httpss://www.instagram.com/p/BZCoeakACpw/?hl=en&taken-by=serranosisters A specific MMA promotion has not been set for her debut. Serrano spent some time in Las Vegas with Tate, getting quality training with the former champion. Now back in NYC, she continues her training and anticipates showing her boxing skills in the cage. httpss://www.instagram.com/p/BZSF4U-gqUy/?hl=en&taken-by=serranosisters Follow Amanda Serrano on social media to see her journey into the world of mixed martial arts at @SerranoSisters. Transiting from Boxing to MMA Serrano is not the first, and certainly won’t be the last, to make the transition from boxing to mixed martial arts. Fellow Brooklyn women’s champion, Heather ‘The Heat’ Hardy made her debut in Bellator this past June. Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight champion, Holly Holm, also made the transition. She became a household name when she defeated former undefeated UFC champion Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in November of 2015.
