Football New York Jets: 4 Possible Breakout Players for the 2015 Jets by Staff Post July 11, 2015 from NFL.comLeonard Williams The Jets are clearly a much improved team from last year. But for the Jets to make a serious playoff push, they will need some players to step up. Here is a list of players that could break out for the Jets this year. 1. Zac Stacey Stacy will be wearing a Jets uniform for the first time this season. The former St. Louis Ram running back just had 293 rushing yards last season in only 13 games. It’s nothing worth bragging about but his rookie numbers from 2013 are. In 14 games, he rushed for a grand total of 973 yards, which is an average of 69.5 yards per game. If Stacey gets back to rookie form, the Jets will have a dangerous backfield. 2.Stevan Ridley Ridley rushed for 340 yards last year with the Patriots in just six games. In 2012, he rushed for 1263 yards and played in all 16 games for New England. Over the past few years, Ridley has been a very effective running back; even more impressive when you realize he plays in an offense that has their quarterback drop back to pass 40 times per game. I think Ridley will flourish in an offense that has a lot of weapons out of the backfield, and a run-first offense. 3. Leonard Williams The first round draft pick for the Jets this year has every opportunity to break out with the four game suspension to Sheldon Richardson. Now that Williams will have a starting role on the defensive line for the first four games, he will be able to show what he is capable of at the NFL level. He was widely regarded as the top overall talent in the draft and we could see his effects very early in the season. 4. Dee Milliner the end of 2013. Milliner will also not be required to cover the best receiver anymore since Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie are back. Milliner have less responsibility and learning from Revis and Cromartie can only help Milliner in his devolvement.
