Uncategorized Patriots Clobber Revolution 17-6 by Somerset Patriots August 24, 2015 York, PA – The Somerset Patriots (23-19, 73-39) defeated the York Revolution (22-19, 46-65) 17-6 Saturday evening at Santander Stadium. The 17 runs Somerset tallied tied a season-high. In the bottom of the first inning right fielder Brandon Boggs slapped a RBI single to give York a 1-0 advantage. Somerset erupted for six runs in the top of the second inning to grab a 6-1 lead. Designated hitter Mike Wilson blasted a two run home run (1), catcher James Skelton hammered a three run home run (1), and third baseman David Vidal stroked a RBI single. The Patriots plated two runs in the top of the third inning as catcher Luis De La Cruz committed a throwing error to score Wilson and shortstop Robert Andino ripped a RBI single making the score 8-1. Three more runs came across in the top of the fourth inning as the lead increased to 11-1. Right fielder Michael Burgess drilled a home run (10) while both first baseman Adam Donachie and second baseman Nate Spears recorded RBI singles. York cut the deficit in half in the bottom of the fifth inning as the lead for Somerset dwindled to 11-6. Boggs sprayed a RBI single. De La Cruz and shortstop Mickey Reynolds each roped two RBI singles. In the ensuing half inning the Patriots responded with six runs making the contest 17-6 which would be the final. An error by left fielder Eric Patterson scored Wilson then Spears pounded a two RBI double. Skelton would register a RBI single as would Andino. Mickey Storey earned his fourth straight win (9-3) hurling five innings while allowing six runs. Hunter Adkins took the loss (0-1) lasting 1.2 innings while allowing six runs on four hits. The 2015 Somerset Patriots season presented by Ford will continue on the road until the Somerset Patriots return to TD Bank Ballpark for a 7:05 p.m. game against the Sugar Land Skeeters on Monday, August 24th.
