Prudential Center To Host NBA Draft

The formal announcement will be made tonight by NBA Commissioner David Stern, who will be in attendance for the Nets season opener against the Detroit Pistons. The Nets will play their home games at Prudential Center for two years while their new arena in Brooklyn is being built.

The Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey will host the 2011 NBA Draft.

The formal announcement will be made tonight by NBA Commissioner David Stern, who will be in attendance for the Nets season opener against the Detroit Pistons. The Nets will play their home games at Prudential Center for two years while their new arena in Brooklyn is being built.

At tonight’s announcement, Stern will be joined by Newark mayor Corey Booker and New Jersey Devils owner Jeff Vanderbeek.

The NBA Draft is just the latest in an ever expanding list of events occuring at the state of the art arena. Aside from the Nets, Prudential Center is the home of the New Jersey Devils hockey team, as well as Seton Hall University basketball.

The Prudential Center has also hosted many big name concerts and events.

Add the 2011 NBA Draft to that list.
