Rangers Announce 2015 Traverse City Tournament Roster

It’s hard to believe, but September has arrived and NHL hockey is nearly back! The annual Traverse City tournament gets underway soon and the New York Rangers have announced the roster that will be traveling to Michigan for the tournament.

Per the press release from the team, 23 prospects are on the roster “… including three of the team’s selections in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft: Ryan Gropp, Sergey Zborovskiy, and Brad Morrison. The roster also features defenseman Brady Skjei, who was selected by the Rangers in the first round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft and is participating in the Traverse City Tournament for the first time.”

The selection of Skjei will be exciting for fans as there is a very good possibility he’ll be playing for the New York Rangers once the regular season gets underway again. For the full list of players going to Traverse City you can click here.

The Rangers play on September 11, 12 and 13 against the Minnesota Wild, St. Louis Blues, and Columbus Blue Jackets respectively. On the 14th the team will play a “placement game.” The Rangers will be trying to win the tournament for just the second time ever — their first and only win came in 2007.
