Jared Mitchell slugged his first two homers of the year and the Patriots (11-8, 49-40) stranded 13 base runners. The Patriots five game winning streak came to an end. “We battled and put some good at bats together, but we just couldn’t get that big hit when we needed it most,” said Aharon Eggleston, as the Patriots stranded the bases loaded in the third, seventh and eighth innings. Eric Farris notched an RBI double in the first inning to give the Patriots an early 1-0 advantage. York grabbed the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning. Mitchell blasted a home run (1) and Kevin Rivers drilled an RBI double. The Revolution added three more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to balloon their lead to 5-1. Mitchell slugged a two-run home run (2) and Andres Perez, Yorks’ all-time leader in hits and RBI, pounded an RBI triple. David Vidal mashed a solo home run (11) in the top of the sixth inning to make the score 5-2 which would be the final. In 124 games last year Vidal tallied 12 home runs.
