The Barn is rocking and the Islanders are winning

The New York Islanders are back on Long Island, which means the old barn is rocking yet again. The Coliseum is a special place for Islander fans, and a six-game winning streak to put them first in the wild card spot makes it all the more significant. The Coliseum has brought much excitement and energy to not only the Islander fans, but the players as well.

The Islanders young core has bought into Barry Trotz and his coaching style, and it has shown. The team won their sixth straight game Saturday night against the St. Louis Blues and look to keep the streak going Tuesday night against the Carolina Hurricanes at the barn.

The Islanders currently sit at 50 points, leaving them just four points back of the first place Washington Capitals. The team has been explosive with lock down defense, tremendous goaltending, and outstanding offense from young phenom Matt Barzal.

Expect a lively crowed Tuesday night as Barzal and the Islanders look to continue their streak back at the Coliseum.
