Lio Rush (Credit – WWE.com) WWE’s youth movement and their goal of collecting the top wrestlers out there continue’s to grow. After initial reports saying a deal was made, the company announced the signing of independent star Lio Rush. In a press release, WWE called the move a “blockbuster signing” and that he is “one of the ring’s top high-flyers”, which isn’t that far off. Rush made a name for himself in CZW, becoming a two-time CZW Wired Champion. He recently won the CZW World Heavyweight Championship this year. That was an important moment for the company, as they showcased the future with Maxwell Jacob Friedman also winning gold. Rush won the House of Glory Crown Jewel Championship as well. Lio Rush joined Ring of Honor a while back and won their Top Prospect Tournament in 2016. He left shortly after once opportunities weren’t knocking in his eyes. It looks like he’s getting his moment, joining WWE and reportedly going straight to NXT after a short stint at the Performance Center. The signing comes at an interesting time. Adam Cole just recently made his debut in NXT and immediately formed a ROH-like stable. Will Rush join the group, or will he look to stand out on his own? Will Donovan Dijak be joining him? Like I said, it is a very interesting time to be a professional wrestling fan. The 22-year old Rush is looking to make an immediate impact. The WWE Universe may not be ready yet, but they will be soon enough. Post Views: 2,738 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Daniel Yanofsky Baseball Editor, Misc.
