Exclusive Interview: Sports Writer, Rob Parks Jr. (VIDEO)

I had the opportunity to interview Rob Parks Jr, CEO/Senior Writer of ParksSportsAndRecreation.com, NBA/NFL Columnist, podcast host and Healthcare/IT Analyst via Zoom.

From Cleveland, Ohio, Parks Jr grew up playing basketball and running and continued that through middle into high school. Parks Jr. enjoyed writing, developing that passion in elementary school. Reading the USA Today and Cleveland Plain Dealer, Parks Jr. main focus centered on the sports and business sections.

Initially slated to attend Ohio State University, Parks Jr. decided to choose Bowling Green State University due to additional monies for a scholarship. Enrolled in the Sports Management Program, Parks Jr. graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Sports Management with an emphasis in Sports Enterprise.

Breaking into the healthcare field in 2012, Parks. Jr. has traveled to numerous cities and states  fulfilling contract assignments. A sports enthusiast, Parks Jr. created ParksSportsAndRecreation.com in 2014. He has written and worked for several other organizations, including Real Sport, TMZ and Fox Sports 1340 AM. 

In this long-ranging in-depth interview, Parks Jr. expressed his viewpoints on the state of the journalism and sports media industry, diversity/racism, 2020 and establishing a social media presence.
