Baseball Wheels Falling Off New York Mets Wagon Article by Double G Sports Contributing Writer Marc A. Spallino by Staff Post July 20, 2010 [This article was written by Double G Sports New York Mets writer Marc A. Spallino] Let’s face it, the Mets avoided a brutal four game sweep by the San Francisco Giants due to a blown call at home plate on Sunday. K-Rod came in on Sunday with a two run lead in the ninth and blew it. He gave up his very familiar leadoff walk followed by a sacrifice and two hits to allow the Giants to tie the game. If it wasn’t for a blown call at home plate Rodriguez would have caused the Mets the game. One can only imagine how Johan Santana felt after he pitched a brilliant eight innings only allowing one run and one walk. Ike Davis saved the Mets in the tenth inning with an RBI double that drove in Jason Bay to give the Mets the lead. Jerry Manuel decided to send K-Rod back out to the mound in the bottom of the inning. I really don’t understand this decision and felt he should have gone with Bobby Parnell who has been lights out lately. After Rodriguez’s disgraceful performance, he did not deserve the opportunity to redeem himself and get the win. With the Mets season on the verge of completely unraveling and spiraling out of control, surely they will head into Arizona looking to make up for the horrible series in San Fran right? Think again! Mike Pelfrey started for the Mets on extra rest and was awful. Pelfrey pitched 1.1 innings and allowed seven hits and six runs while throwing over 50 pitches. Nothing went right for the Mets after that first inning. The Mets would go on to lose 13-2. It will be interesting to see how Jerry Manuel handles his team’s performance. I would not be surprised to see some sort of closed door meeting similar to what we saw last year when the Mets were struggling. This team needs something to get them into gear. Tomorrow the Mets will have R.A. Dickey facing Barry Enright with another 9:40 EST start. minocin 100 side effects side effects Buy acyclovir side effects shingles triamterene hctz webmd price paroxetine no prescription pills nitroglycerin vial Buy Without Prescription propranolol mechanism of action for sale bystolic coupon generic strattera lose weight effects banana leaf restaurant philippines menu online synthroid indications drug Post Views: 1,408 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Staff Post Latest posts by Staff Post (see all) In The Zone Announces Initial Podcast Lineup - November 13, 2020 The Essential Resources You Need to Start Your Own Gym in 2020 - February 6, 2020 Wilder vs Fury II – How the second fight will be different to the first? - February 5, 2020 Early turnovers, defensive struggles plague the Scarlet Knights - January 26, 2020 Related TopicsBaseballBaseballNew York MetsNL East Click to comment You must be logged in to post a comment Login Leave a Reply Cancel replyYou must be logged in to post a comment.
