Cody Rhodes v. Christopher Daniels – ROH (ROHWrestling.com) At Ring of Honor’s ‘War of the Worlds’ event in New York City, Cody Rhodes was about to reach his goal. He put Jay Lethal in the figure-four leglock, and could have won the Ring of Honor World Title. Champion Christopher Daniels hit his finishing move, the Best Moonsault Ever, onto both men to retain the title. Cody felt robbed and demanded ROH officials to do something about it. It appears they have answered his request. On Friday, June 23, Christopher Daniels will defend his ROH World Title one on one against Cody Rhodes. The event will be held at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts. Ring of Honor announced it via a press release. The opportunity is something Cody has been waiting for for a long time. In Double G Sports’ exclusive interview with Cody a few weeks ago, he discussed what it would mean to be a champion outside of WWE. Having the opportunity and possibly winning the title would mean the world to him. A new journey would begin, one with promise. httpss://twitter.com/CodyRhodes/status/869715561663614981 A win for Cody Rhodes would be very interesting. Getting the win as a free agent could open up endless possibilities. There have been rumors that Cody has signed an exclusive deal with ROH, but he has repeatedly shot them down. A win could bring him closer to greatness without even having to stay put. As a member of the Bullet Club, don’t be surprised if any of the members try and help the Grandson of a Plumber pick up the W. For Christopher Daniels, it is a chance to have an advantage over the Bullet Club, and to prove something to the wrestling world. Although he may be much older, he is looking to prove that his title reign means something. It will be “The American Nightmare” v. “The Ring General” battling for the hottest prize in the US outside of the WWE Title. Anything can happen, and it should be quite a show.
