Baseball Domingo German’s season is over due to domestic violence investigation German was 18-4 with a 4.03 ERA this season. by Gregg Snyder September 20, 2019 New York Yankees pitcher Domingo German was placed on administrative leave under the MLB/MLBPA’s Joint Domestic Violence Policy on Thursday. Friday, it was reported by ESPN’s Buster Olney, German will not appear in another game this season. German has had a breakout season in the Yankees starting rotation. Due to innings limits, his postseason role was expected to be out of the bullpen. German would have been counted on to throw multiple innings out of the pen and utilize his high strikeout rate. Regardless of the role, German was likely expected to be a key figure on the mound in the postseason. Now, the Yankees will need to fill that role elsewhere. Does this give CC Sabathia a clear path to the postseason roster? German was 18-4 with a 4.03 ERA this season.
