Flyers’ Andrew MacDonald Out Six Weeks

It was revealed Sunday morning that the Philadelphia Flyers alternate captain would miss the next six weeks with a lower body injury. Andrew MacDonald will likely miss the first week or two of regular season games.

Last season, MacDonald missed 15 games with a leg injury. The Flyers fell into a ten game losing streak without him. It was part of a stretch where they lost 15 of 18 games. Gudas got suspended, Manning was hurt, and they blew what seemed like a dozen two goal leads. Overall, not a good time to be a defenseman.

The injury to MacDonald opens up a spot for Christian Folin to potentially make his debut. The front office likes to keep injury specifics out of the media.

Rookie camp opens Monday morning for the Flyers.
