Hockey Flyers’ Andrew MacDonald Out Six Weeks by Evan Watson September 9, 2018 It was revealed Sunday morning that the Philadelphia Flyers alternate captain would miss the next six weeks with a lower body injury. Andrew MacDonald will likely miss the first week or two of regular season games. Last season, MacDonald missed 15 games with a leg injury. The Flyers fell into a ten game losing streak without him. It was part of a stretch where they lost 15 of 18 games. Gudas got suspended, Manning was hurt, and they blew what seemed like a dozen two goal leads. Overall, not a good time to be a defenseman. The injury to MacDonald opens up a spot for Christian Folin to potentially make his debut. The front office likes to keep injury specifics out of the media. Rookie camp opens Monday morning for the Flyers.
