Pro Wrestling Is Hulkamania about to run wild in WWE again? Hogan was fired by WWE for racist remarks that were leaked out by Gawker by Daniel Yanofsky March 26, 2018 Do you want to know what a weird sentence to write in 2018 is? Are you ready? Hulk Hogan may be making a return to WWE. Yes, you heard that right. According to a report by PWInsider, WWE and The Hulkster are gearing towards a reunion. Rumors are swirling that with the in-ring return of Daniel Bryan, SmackDown Live is in need of an authority figure. Hogan definitely fits the mold. There is also a chance that Hogan would be used as a tag team partner for Braun Strowman at WrestleMania, as he is currently fighting Sheamus and Cesaro by himself. With the WWE set to head to Saudi Arabia, a Hogan appearance can help boost sales, among other things. As of this moment, there are no concrete plans if Hogan was to return. What we do know is that it would create a huge splash within the industry, both for good and bad reasons. When asked by PWInsider, WWE didn’t deny the claim. They stated: “We have had discussions with Terry Bollea (aka Hulk Hogan) about how he can help others learn from his mistakes, however, he is not under any contract with WWE.” What do they mean by “mistakes” you may ask? Well, in 2015 WWE terminated the contract of Hulk Hogan. Why? A leaked rant of Hogan saying racist remarks regarding an African American man surfaced thanks to Gawker, along with his now famous sex tape. WWE immediately let him go, his last WrestleMania appearance being at the 31st edition, joining in on the Triple H v. Sting match. He was a coach during the new Tough Enough before leaving. Hulk Hogan sued Gawker, eventually winning a judgement amount of $115 million, bankrupting the company. It also led to a settlement of $31 million. During that time and most recently, Hogan has attempted to get back in the good graces of WWE, looking to prove that he is indeed not a racist. He has appeared in a number of WWE-related projects, most notably the Ric Flair 30 for 30. Hogan is set to appear in the Andre the Giant HBO documentary as well. If you are a fan of Hogan, you have to be torn by this news. On one hand, WWE may be getting back the reason they are popular today. The man transcended the wrestling industry thanks to deals with movie stars and the Hulkamania fad. On the other, controversy has surrounded this man wherever he goes, and his last spill almost excommunicated him completely. If he was to return, several wrestlers like Mark Henry have stated that he would need to apologize to all African American wrestlers, which there are quite a few of. If Hulk is true to his word, he would easily do what was right. Stay tuned for more updates regarding the return of Hulkamania to WWE. Vince and his company would be making a huge gamble with this, but that is something they are used to.
