Basketball Knicks Adjusting to a Post Melo World by Andre Oge October 3, 2017 Sights and sounds from the Knicks open training camp practice on Sunday revealed the team to be adjusting to a world without Carmelo Anthony. Frank Ntilikina, Tim Hardaway Jr., Courtney Lee, and Kristaps Porzingis were clearly in good form during the session. The rest of the team seemed to be working well around them. With the start of the regular season right around the corner, it is a pleasure to see them putting in work together. Yet, there’s a huge difference between training camp and the real thing. The highlights from this weekend’s open training camp show promise for the rebuilding franchise. Already the team is developing a certain chemistry centered around Frank Ntilikina’s playing making. Knicks newcomers Enes Kanter and Doug McDermott also look to be putting in work for the team, a good sign for fans weary of the trade that landed them here and sent Anthony to Oklahoma City. Tim Hardaway Jr. looked to add to the mix, getting a few good looks and throwing down a slam. Of course the reel wouldn’t be complete without a few dunks from star player Kristaps Porzingis. The Knicks have their first preseason game on Tuesday night, facing off against the Brooklyn Nets. That will be the first official outing of the new look squad, giving fans an idea of what they can expect for the season. With the new season so close it’s hard not to get excited, while still feeling uneasy about how this group will perform. With any luck fans will have a more highlight plays to look forward and a few more wins to call their own. Knicks fans will have to just sit back and eagerly anticipate all the changes the new season will bring.
