Knockouts Revolution 2.0: Impact Wrestling signs Tessa Blanchard to a long-term deal

Back in 2007, Impact Wrestling’s Knockouts division was the gold standard for women’s wrestling. With Gail Kim leading the charge, the group started a women’s evolution/revolution before WWE’s recent one. Over the years, the companies direction with women’s wrestling hasn’t quite been the same, but they has tried to gain some of that magic again.

Having a talent like Tessa Blanchard around can definitely help the company. Impact announced they have signed the third-generation wrestler to a long-term deal. Details of the contract have not been discussed.

This is one of the savviest moves by Impact to date. Tessa Blanchard debuted for the company back in April at their Redemption PPV. She has had matches so far with the likes of Madison Rayne and Kiera Hogan. The last appearance for her in an Impact-like atmosphere was this past weekend, during Impact’s collaboration with RISE. She won the Phoenix of RISE Championship in a 30-minute Iron Woman match against Mercedes Martinez.

The 22-year old has been all over the world, from Japan to California. She has won multiple titles for Stardom, WrestleCircus and PCW Ultra. She also briefly wrestled in WWE last year for their inaugural Mae Young Classic tournament.

As the daughter of Tully Blanchard, Tessa is looking to make her own legacy, which is coming together nicely. Building around her in the Knockouts division is a solid way for Impact to grow as a leading force in pro wrestling outside of WWE once again.

We have only seen a small sample size of what Tessa Blanchard can do on Pop TV. When its the right time, Tessa will get her true time to shine. When that day comes, it will be a run to remember.
