After a major fall out with the promotion around the historical UFC 205 card in November, Wantagh’s own UFC lightweight Al Iaquinta is stepping back into the octagon. Iaquinta will be facing fellow UFC lightweight Diego Sanchez in the co-main event of UFC Nashville on April 22nd at the Bridgestone Arena. The promotion made the announcement Saturday night. Iaquinta posted the news to his social media Thursday morning. httpss://www.instagram.com/p/BRI66f0hecA/?taken-by=aliaquinta&hl=en The Long Island native was forced to withdraw from UFC 205 in November due to contractual issues. Follow the announcement, he was very vocal about fighter pay and the stipulations of his contract. Iaquinta was out for over a year due to knee surgery, which extended his original contract prior to the Reebok deal, causing many fighters to take a hit in sponsorship pay. The #14 ranked 155-er is currently on a four-fight win streak. He picked up notable victories over Rodrigo Damm, Joe Lauzon, Jorge Masvidal and Ross Pearson. Headlining the UFC Fight Night will be top featherweight contendors Cub Swanson and Artem Lobov.
