From SNY.tv Amed Rosario, is the Mets prized shortstop prospect. The Mets have not gotten off to the start they had hoped to say the least. Sitting under .500 and in last place in the NL East, and facing a rash of injuries, coupled with older players off to slow starts, has put Mets’ fans in panic mode. One of the names Mets’ fans have clamored for is young phenom Amed Rosario. The 21-year old Shortstop prodigy is someone Mets fans think can jump start the offense, and inject some life into a lineup and batting order that at times has at the very least, appeared lifeless. The Mets beat writers have been quick to shoot down the rumors and clamor. Marc Carig of Newsday tweeted: httpss://twitter.com/MarcCarig/status/855598897057726465 Mike Puma also shot down the rumors via Twitter. However, as the Mets continue to flounder and infield defense and offensive production continue to be a few of the reasons, Amed Rosario has become a real option. Rosario is tearing up Las Vegas with a batting average hovering around .400, and infield range scouts dream of at Shortstop. Although the beat writers continue to shoot the rumors down, the Mets are indeed considering a promotion of Rosario to the Major League roster. According to a source within the organization, the Mets are considering such a move. This would be much like what the Cubs did with Kyle Schwarber in 2015, and the Giants did earlier this month with their version of Rosario, Christian Arroyo. In fact, there is precedence for this within the Mets organization. The Mets beat shot down rumors of an Ike Davis call-up in April of 2010, and with Michael Conforto in 2015 as the Mets “weren’t considering a callup” in July. You heard it here, expect a Rosario call-up in the coming weeks.
