Feature Philadelphia Union Set to Turn to Rais Mbolhi to Man the Nets Rais Mbolhi has earned 41 international caps with Algeria. by Jayson Love May 7, 2015 Union keeper Rais MBoulhi was good, but allowed match winner to Fire. (USA Today Images) Rais Mbolhi, who has earned 41 international caps with Algeria, may be set to return to the starting goalkeeper job he thought he had when he signed this past winter. The image that burns most famously of Mbolhi is the 2010 World Cup where he was in net for Landon Donovan’s stoppage time match-winner that sent the USA through the round of 16. According to the team’s twitter feed, Union keepers Andre Blake and John McCarthy picked up injuries in training. httpss://twitter.com/PhilaUnion/status/595989368717840384 With the two keepers likely sidelined, Mbolhi should get his chance to shine. Goal is not where the Union have struggled this season. Generally, it has been the lack of offense holding the team back as it sits on just 6 points out of 10 matches this season. The next home game for the Union will be on May 17th against D.C. United. Tickets start at $18 with the current average price on the secondary market at $42. For fans visiting from out of town to see the international star, hotels in Philadelphia can be booked through Hipmunk with four options starting from below $100 per night. Philadelphia flights are also available from Hipmunk’s fantastic airline tickets guide and can put anyone within six miles of the city center. Although Mbolhi has not had the start to the Philadelphia Union season that he would have liked, it appears there will be a chance to come back and make good on his contract.
