Mayweather v. McGregor – Press Tour Day 2 (Barstool Sports)

It has only been two days, but the press tour for Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor might be a better battle than their actual fight on August 26th. In a rowdy crowd in Toronto, McGregor stole the show. Everyone was hoping Mayweather v. McGregor would provide some fireworks. Today, an atomic bomb landed inside the Sony Centre for the Performing Arts.

The tour started off pretty even at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Mayweather actually held his ground while Conor was his normal self. The latter even had a suit on that spoke volumes about his feelings for Floyd. It appeared Conor’s mic was cut off at certain points, but Showtime denied the claims. You could say that Floyd won that round.

Round two wasn’t even close. It started off with this epic standoff between the two:

As expected, the Toronto crowd was pro-McGregor the entire time. Conor started off strong, cursing any chance he got. “The Notorious One” cursed out anyone and everyone at Showtime and the entire Mayweather family. He got the whole crowd to chant, “F*ck the Mayweather’s” just like that. Conor then went in on Floyd’s reading ability, and got the fans to chant, “Show Your Taxes!” We witnessed a classic Conor we didn’t really see during the first press conference.

Floyd tried to make a comeback, but it was to no avail. Stealing and wearing a fans Irish flag, Mayweather paraded around the stage, but left his backpack behind. Conor took it and almost threw the cash in it into the crowd. Now that would have been a moment.

The verbal wars are heating up, and they are just getting started, There are those saying that McGregor has no shot at beating Mayweather. Their points are valid, and Floyd may have a 99.99% advantage over Conor. However, Conor has proved many wrong, and if he capitalizes on his .01% chance, we could see something special happen.

Brooklyn is next on the tour, and this could be where McGregor really sets the fight atmosphere. At this point, security should be increased at the Barclays Center. If Conor hasn’t gotten into Floyd’s head yet, imagine what he will pull in Brooklyn of all places.

What a ride it has been so far. Stay tuned for more dramatic moments, courtesy of Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
