MMA Russian Invasion on Long Island: Alexander Shlemenko returns for Bellator 208 The MMA legend will look to make an impact and avoid losing his third fight in a row at Bellator 208 by Daniel Yanofsky September 14, 2018 Making its promotional debut on Long Island, Bellator knew it had to hire some big guns to entice fans. Well, how does having someone known as the “Siberian Striker” sound? Bellator 208 will feature a middleweight bout between Alexander Shlemenko and Anatoly Tokov. FloCombat was the first to report the news. This will be Shlemenko’s (56-11 (1NC)) first time in a Bellator cage since last October. He lost to Gegard Mousasi in controversial fashion at Bellator 185. Shlemenko is currently on a two-fight losing streak, his last fight being a round-one KO loss to Bruno Silva at M-1 Challenge 93. The former Bellator Middleweight Champion is looking to go back to his dominant ways. His opponent, however, may not want to help his cause. Tokov (26-3) has won two in a row, his last fight a first-round submission victory against Vladimir Filipovic at Bellator 200. Before that, he was resting from an ACL tear. Tokov is most known for his 16-fight win streak outside of the major promotions. While Shlemenko will look to drop his streak, Tokov is determined to increase his and his opponents. Bellator 208 takes place October 13 at the Nassau Coliseum on Long Island, NY. The main event will feature Chael Sonnen v. Fedor Emelianenko in the semifinals of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament. Tickets can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com or the Nassau Coliseum box office.
