Football Sharks Finish Season Undefeated After Crushing Washington by Staff Post June 14, 2016 Brooklyn, NY – The New York Sharks took care of business this past weekend as they beat their conference rival, Washington Prodigy, in a blowout, 36-6. The Sharks finished the season undefeated at 8-0 for the first time since 2006 and now look to the playoffs. The team came out strong in the first half and never let up as they placed points on the board and stuck to their gameplan. This game was better for the Sharks than the first time these two teams played earlier this year. Many on the team would say this is how the first game should have gone. This was a better performance all around for the Sharks and they now head into the playoffs on a hot streak. There was a lot of great plays in this game and this was a great team win for the Sharks. Game balls were giving out to the top players both on offense and defense. The offensive game ball was given to running back Shanon Morris and the defensive game ball was awarded to defensive lineman Nikki Joseph. The Sharks now look to the playoffs even though they believe they have started playoff football this past week. The Sharks will have a first round bye since winning the Independent Women’s Football League’s Atlantic Conference. The New York Sharks will travel to face the Minnesota Vixen on July 9, which is a historical rematch between these two teams. Both teams are the longest running and operating teams in women’s tackle football. This will be the first time that these two teams have met since December 11, 1999.
