Pro Wrestling T.J. Perkins wins the WWE Cruiserweight Classic, becomes WWE Cruiserweight Champion by Daniel Yanofsky September 15, 2016 Last night, the highly praised WWE Cruiserweight Classic ended on a high note. After 18 years in the professional wrestling business, T.J. Perkins won the tournament, earning the title of best in the world. He defeated Gran Matalik in a fantastic match, adding to the collection of classics he put on against previous CWC competitors Da Mack, Johnny Gargano, Rich Swann and the great Kota Ibushi in the semi-finals. Not only did TJP win the tournament against the best of the best, but he now has a chance to be on WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, as a champion. The Cruiserweight Title made its long-awaited return to WWE, with TJP at the forefront of the division. It is a moment that has been a long time coming for the Filipino sensation. httpss://twitter.com/WWE_CWC/status/776252550777405440 The story of T.J. Perkins is very inspirational. At first he was homeless, and now he is on top of the world. What’s great is that he always remembers where he came from. In his post-match interview on the WWE Network, TJP stated that he wore a key around his neck, as it was a reminder of a place he couldn’t go back to (home). Now, he doesn’t need it anymore as its somewhere he never has to go back to. 2016 has been the year of opportunities for young, experienced wrestlers within WWE. Once a mainstay in TNA, Perkins wasn’t given the opportunities he truly deserved. Ring of Honor, PWG and especially Evolve helped provide him the stage he earned from years of hard work. Now, WWE has called, and now there’s no turning back. The CWC was a chance for T.J. Perkins to prove to everyone that he could do whatever he set his mind to. One of his last remarks was: “Do what the say you can’t!” Teddy James Perkins has lived with that mantra his entire life. Young kids should follow suit, as TJP wrestles with a passion not seen before in quite some time. He is the true spirit of John Cena’s “Never Give Up” attitude. Get ready folks: T.J. Perkins is coming to Monday Nights, and nothing will ever be the same again. httpss://twitter.com/MaskaraManik/status/775362952199299072 You can check out all the action from the CWC on the WWE network. Trust me, its worth taking a look (or 6). Post Views: 2,987 The following two tabs change content below.BioLatest Posts Daniel Yanofsky Baseball Editor, Misc. Sports Editor.
