Pro Wrestling The cruiserweights are officially back and ready to take over WWE by Daniel Yanofsky September 20, 2016 When the WWE Cruiserweight Classic was first announced, it provided a chance for WWE fans to see different styles clash inside the ring. Talent from around the world arrived to show why they are the best (without needing to be known as a WWE superstar). As the tournament went on, many were impressed with how the competitors handled the pressure. Triple H has been working hard to make WWE the best that it can be, and adding talents like these to WWE’s deep roster would have been just a dream at any point before this year. It appears that the boys upstairs agreed with the Cerebral Assassin and made the dream a reality. This past Monday, the cruiserweights made their return to Raw, albeit a small sample size. The impact of the division started immediately, as GM Mick Foley announced a Cruiserweight Title match at Clash of Champions this Sunday. THE Brian Kendrick, a former WWE Tag Team Champion, faced off against former Ring of Honor star Cedric Alexander, the highly praised Rich Swann and CWC runner-up Gran Metalik, in a match to decide the number one contender for T.J. Perkins’ Cruiserweight Title. Kendrick won, evolving his story of getting a second chance with the company. This was a great match that showcased the division’s revitalization. Everyone had a chance to shine, and the talent proved Ricochet’s comments from a few months ago: Pro wrestling is an art form. httpss://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EU_sThKXIe8 There has been a buzz in the air ever since T.J. Perkins won the tournament and became Cruiserweight Champion. This past Monday confirmed to everyone that the buzz is not going away. Now it’s time to look towards the future. More talent is confirmed to arrive in the upcoming weeks. Names like Lince Dorado and Noam Dar have yet do debut. Jack Gallagher is highly praised backstage and is waiting for his moment to get pushed. Once they finish their indie dates and their work in NXT, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa will be entertaining the WWE Universe. With all of these talents arriving, we could potentially see a cruiserweight division on SmackDown Live. Now that would make things even more exciting in WWE. This Sunday, THE Brian Kendrick returns to the spotlight while T.J. Perkins will be introduced to it. The veteran in Kendrick will help grow a revitalized division, while TJP will look to push further boundaries. Fasten your seat belts, the cruiserweights only know one speed, and that’s to put the pedal to the metal.
