(LowkickMMA.com) Bellator has added two world championship fights to the stacked NYC-debut pay-per-view. Bellator Welterweight champion Douglas Lima will defend his title against former top-10 UFC fighter, Lorenz Larkin. This will be Larkin’s promotional debut since going free-agent. Also defending his title is Bellator Featherweight champion Michael Chandler against undefeated Brent Primus. The promotion made the announcement in a press release on their website Thursday. httpss://twitter.com/BellatorMMA/status/845025611936645121 This will be Bellator’s first visit to New York since mixed martial arts became legal. Prelims are featured on Spike TV starting at 8pm EST before switching to pay-per-view for the main card at 10pm EST. “As a fight promoter, my goal is to put together the biggest cards possible for our fans around the world,” Bellator President Scott Coker said in the press release. “Bringing an event of this magnitude to a city and arena like New York and Madison Square Garden has been something Bellator, Spike and Viacom have wanted to make happen for quite some time. On June 24, the goal becomes reality, when we put on the biggest event in promotional history, ‘Bellator NYC.’“ Bellator 180 features a heavyweight main event bout between UFC vets Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva. In the co-main event, Matt Mitrione will face Fedor Emelianenko in his Bellator debut. Mitrione and Emelianenko were set to face each other at Bellator 172 in February. Mitrione withdrew due to kidney stones just hours before the event started. Tickets for the Madison Square Garden card go on sale Friday, March 31 through Ticketmaster.com. A fan pre-sale starts Wednesday, March 29 to Thursday, March 30. Fans can register for the Bellator Nation newsletter containing the code at Bellator.com.
