MMA United States takeover? ONE Championship announces partnership with Turner Broadcasting ONE will now be in the homes of millions of U.S. fans in an attempt to become true competition to organizations like the UFC and Bellator. by Daniel Yanofsky December 16, 2018 After signing some of the most dominant fighters from the United States, ONE Championship has decided to expand its influence in North America. The company announced a three-year broadcasting deal with Turner Sports Broadcasting. Starting on January 1, 2019 ONE will have 24 events that will air live on B/R Live. The digital platform is another streaming service that will look to make a major impact in the sports world this upcoming year. TNT may also be a home for ONE, which is viewed by millions of viewers around the world. The first event for ONE on the B/R platform is scheduled for January 19th in Jakarta, Indonesia. Turner’s TNT is known for a variety of drama shows and has been home to several sports programs over the years. Some of those programs include the NBA on TNT, the PGA Championship and NCAA basketball games. This is not the first time the Turner brand had some form of combat sports in its programming; pro wrestling’s WCW was a major partner with the organization back in the 90’s. ONE is already grabbing attention by adding Eddie Alvarez, Demetrious Johnson, Sage Northcutt and Miesha Tate to their organization. With a platform meant to reach North America, the aforementioned MMA figures will be used heavily for promotion.
