Other Sports Thunder Win Opener Against Mets! by Staff Post May 13, 2011 The Trenton Thunder Bats silenced by Binghamton Starter Mark Cohoon for the first six innings erupted for seven runs in the seventh inning powered by 2 run singles by Addison Maruszak, Austin Krum and Austin Romine for a 7-4 victory at Waterfront Park Thursday Night. The Victory raised the Thunder’s record to 18-16 overall. Binghamton fell to 12-19 on the season. Thunder relievers Naoya Okamoto and Josh Schimdt combined to shut down the Mets the rest of the way earning Schimdt the win. Tim Norton got the save for the Thunder. The Thunder have three more games against the Mets at Waterfront Park before hitting the road for a three game series against the Erie Seawolves. Thunder Claps; The Thunder resume the series tonight at Waterfront Park @ 7:05 pm. Tonite is Phil Hughes Bobblehead Doll to the first 2.000 fans 6 yrs and up. Thunder RHP Craig Heyer was placed on the Disabled List on Thursday. Nobody has been called up yet leaving the Thunder with only 24 players on the active roster one less the maximum 25 players allowed.
