MMA Several key matches confirmed for Bellator 207 The big boys will come out to play in Uncasville, Connecticut by Daniel Yanofsky August 26, 2018 Bellator is looking to end a solid 2018 on a happy note, hence the build of multiple cards with great fighters. Bellator 208 takes place on October 13, but the night before, we have Bellator 207. The company decided to step up their game when it comes to the violence that pleases the fans. The co-main event will feature Roy Nelson facing Sergei Kharitonov in a heavyweight bout. Nelson (23-15) was supposed to face Mirko Cro Cop at Bellator 200, before Cro Cop had to back out due to an injury. “Big Country” is looking to stay in contendership after losing to Mitrione in the opening round of the Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament at Bellator 194. He will be facing a man making his third trip to Bellator in Sergei Kharitonov. The last time Sergei (27-6, (1NC)) fought inside a Bellator octagon was at Bellator 175 back in March 2017. He defeated Chase Gormley via KO. Another dominant Russian, a win by Kharitonov could potentially put him in the conversation for a title opportunity. While unlikely, Bellator would love to create storylines with a dominant “unknown”, well, at least in the United States. Filling out the main card, so far at least, will be Brennan Ward facing Andre Fialho in a middleweight bout. Ward (14-6) is coming off of a 15-month layoff, last fighting at Bellator 182 in August 2017. The former NCAA All-American needs a big win here, as he went 1-3 in his last few fights when he was active. From there, injuries forced him out of fights that he badly needed. He faces a hungry youngster in Fialho (9-1), who recently beat A.J. Matthews via unanimous decision at Bellator 181. The 24 year old from Portugal is looking to make a name for himself by going 3-1 in his Bellator career. This is a fight neither competitor can lose, especially Ward. Bellator 207 takes place October 12 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The main event features Matt Mitrione v . Ryan Bader in the semifinals of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.
