“Baby Slice” will look to keep the momentum going at Bellator 207

The son of the late Kimbo Slice will have another challenge in front of him in his quest to become a great MMA fighter.

As Kevin Ferguson Jr., the son of the late Kimbo Slice, attempts to make a name for himself, he realizes obstacles will be in his way. Bellator is willing to provide him opportunities to knock out said obstacles, whoever it may be. According to ESPN, and confirmed later by MMA Fighting, “Baby Slice” will face Corey Browning at Bellator 207.

This main card contest will be a lightweight bout, a first for Ferguson (3-1) in his young career. His first two fights have been as a welterweight while his last two were under catchweight. Ferguson’s last fight was a first round submission victory against Devon Brock at Bellator 197. As he continues to drop weight, Ferguson will look to prove he belongs with the best the Bellator roster has to offer.

While his challenger may not have much experience, that can be extremely dangerous. Browning (3-2) will be making his Bellator debut, and has lost his last two fights in regional competition. Just like Aaron Pico, these two fighters are working their way up. If Bellator is serious about promoting “Baby Slice”, a win against Browning should propell him to stiffer competition.

Bellator 207 takes place October 12 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The main event features Matt Mitrione v . Ryan Bader in the semifinals of the Bellator Heavyweight Grand Prix Tournament. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Ticketmaster.com.
