Boxing Boxing phenom Michael Conlan makes his Las Vegas debut on October 20 against Nicola Cipolletta Conlan will look for his ninth win in his young career by Daniel Yanofsky October 6, 2018 For the first time in his young career, Michael Conlan will be performing in combat sports haven. The 26-year-old will face Nicola Cipolletta on October 20 inside the MGM Resorts’ Park Theater in Las Vegas, Nevada. Top Rank added this fight to the Ryota Murata v. Rob Brant bout for the former’s WBA Middleweight Championship. Conlan (8-0) has primarily fought in New York. His last bout was a win against Adeilson Dos Santos in his backyard of Ireland back in June. Conlan had the following to say about the opportunity to fight in the same state that has hosted Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather: “It has always been a dream of mine to fight in Las Vegas, and that’s becoming a reality thanks to Top Rank,” Conlan said. “The Conlan Revolution is rolling into Sin City and ready to turn it green!” Just like Conor McGregor, wherever Conlan goes so do the Irish. Now that he has taken over the East Coast, he will look to capitalize on his momentum on the other side of the country. Cipolletta (14-6-2) has won 14 in a row, his last fight a TKO win against Josef Ajtai back in August. The undercard fight between two of boxing’s best will start at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+. The main card will also be on ESPN+. Want to attend the event? Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster.com.
