Baseball Bryce Harper’s first home run as a member of the Phillies was a BLAST With home run number one out of the way, Harper is ready to lead the Phillies to the Promised Land. by Marcie Perez March 31, 2019 Hello Mr. Bryce Harper, or should we say, Mr. Double Decker. The Philadelphia Phillies’ $330 million right fielder showed up tonight to play. On Opening Day, he went hitless. He took a lot of heat that day from the Philadelphia crowd, who are known for being passionate. Well, he clearly showed up to play on Saturday. While he did start the game 0-for-2 with a walk, Harper hit a cannon shot that landed 460 feet into the second level of Citizens Bank Park. No doubt. #RingTheBell pic.twitter.com/LhvatQ3WNM — Philadelphia Phillies (@Phillies) March 30, 2019 Sweet dreams. pic.twitter.com/VRw14cC3PF — Philadelphia Phillies (@Phillies) March 31, 2019 With the hit heard all around Philadelphia and South Jersey, he received a huge reaction with a standing ovation at the stadium. Social media was also buzzing with excitement ass Harper proved why he belonged in Philadelphia. With only two games under his belt, this is sure to not be the last we will hear about Bryce this season. If anything, this is just the true start of a beautiful partnership.
