Constantine Maroulis Talks Hip New Jersey Stays Home (Video)

Two New York Giants are joining a number of actors and musicians this weekend to help lend a hand in the battle against COVID-19.

Giants quarterback Daniel Jones and wide receiver Golden Tate will appear on Hip New Jersey Stays Home on Sunday — a collaboration by Hip New Jersey and News 12+ — to help support the New Jersey Pandemic Relief Fund, which will help NJ organizations provide essential services and aid frontliners in the pandemic. But Jones and Tate aren’t the only sports lovers who will feature on the hour-long telethon.

Tony-nominated singer Constantine Maroulis — a New Jersey native — will be one of Sunday’s performers. Maroulis said he’s grateful for the healthcare workers who risk their lives everyday and that being one of the performers is the least he can do. 

“To be in a position to be able to give back is just wonderful,” Maroulis told Double G Sports host, Jenna Lemoncelli during a Zoom interview.

Maroulis, who hails from Bergen County, said he grew up a New York Yankees and New York Giants fan. The American Idol singer said he’s excited about the future for the Giants, but he’s also looking forward to the young quarterback and wide receiver making a virtual appearance Sunday. 

“… Daniel Jones — Danny Dimes — from our great New York Giants (is stopping by),” Maroulis said. “Some great people stopping by for a great cause for sure.”

New Jersey-based businesses, medical care workers, students and non-profit organizations will share what they’ve experienced and dealt with these last couple of months of the coronavirus pandemic.

The telethon will air on News 12+, which is available in New Jersey on Optimum 61 and Verizon Fios 530 at 7 p.m. on Sunday. The show will also stream live on Hip New Jersey’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
